Paparazzi

Hello!! I was just getting on here to say, She's done!! Unfortunately, my scanner isn't hooked up right now, and my daughter "helped" me make her beautiful... I was going to do more, but when she helped, I decided she was done. lol. But when I have my scanner, I will put her on here for all of you to see! I'm working on a few other projects right now, so more to come!

Blessings!

Deadlines

Hello, All!

Just decided that it was time I gave myself a deadline for completing Paparazzi. I want to get her done, but lately the motivation has not been there. Sleep deprivation caused by a slightly sick child, house cleaning, exercise, visitors, and all the other normal junk that builds up have been bogging me down. So I decided that enough is enough! Sloughing off the coat of laziness and realizing that those are all excuses because the background is difficult and I just don't have the brainpower right now to want to sit and deal with it is what I need to do. Suck it up woman!!

So, what is this time frame you ask? I expect to have her background drawn by the middle to end of tomorrow, and have her pre-painted, and by the end of Memorial Day, she'll be done. I know! Tall order. But I work well under pressure, so I'm pretending that I am a person who wants a commission by a certain day and it has to be finished by then or I don't get paid. LOL Am I the only one who needs pushing to get things done sometimes? I think that I am just ready for her to be finished so I can do the next painting. Not that I don't like painting and drawing my subjects, but I am the type who likes to have a bunch of ideas and flit around and do them, but then I try to buckle down and do one at a time so I don't have a million unfinished projects all over. Hence, the deadline. :)

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! It's been raining here, but I like the rain, so I am not complaining. I could even use a good thunderstorm around here!

Off to bed for me! I have a busy day tomorrow if I want to get P done by Monday! Good night to all!!

What's in a name?

I have been thinking really hard about the name of this blog lately. As I don't really want to sound "hokey" when I actually start selling art. So, the name here represents what my art gallery will be named. Aurora Moon Gallery. Yes. I want an art gallery. And yes. It will feature my art. No. It will not be ONLY my art.

I have had a dream for a LONG time to have my own art gallery where fantastic artists can come together and showcase their art, be it watercolor, charcoal, oil, beadwork, pen and ink, pencil, you get the idea. And as I am pagan, features will include pagan themes as well as other religious art. I don't know about you, but some of the Renaissance and Pre-Renaissance religious art such as the "Flight to Egypt" by Giatto, or the stained glass windows that adorn many Catholic churches, I get goosebumps. I am a pagan, no bones about it, but the feeling that these works of art convey I feel, is universal. Sure, they had a specific religion in mind, but sacred is sacred and if we cannot appreciate that in art, how can we ever expect to appreciate it in real life? Funny how tolerance or lack there-of transcends all things, isn't it? We can see it at work and we can see it NOT at work. ie: book burnings. But I ramble.

I am in the process of finishing Paparazzi, so I will post her in the next couple of days! Hope you are as excited as I am. :)

Paparazzi

Woot! Woot! I have the blog how I want it pretty much!! At least now I can say that I have learned a freat deal about html, even though I didn't want to. LOL!

So, NOW I can focus on getting the artwork going! This post has a work in progress picture on it. It's a little light, so bear with me. She is called "Paparazzi" as she seems to not be happy to be found. Like someone who was trying to sneak out of somewhere and they got caught. :) She is so far in the drawing stage and my favorite. I'm working on her background now, and I'll post the pics as she comes a long, willingly, or not.. ;)

I'm still trying to get the funds together to get to the Academy of Art University, so no new news on THAT front, but hey, it might not be until the spring of 2011 that I get to go. Ah well. Darn it all being broke. LOL

On another note, I am in the process of getting my images copywritten/ copy protected. I am very protective over my work and LOVE to take full credit for my work. ;) So, if you could please respect that, I would appreciate that very much.

Html stinks!

Ok, so this whole changing the fonts has been a nightmare. I cannot figure out how to make the blog titles that are on the individual pictures look better! I have to go to bed, though as I am exhausted. I still didn't work too much on the newest addition to the art family. Well, I did, but not as much as I would have hoped.

So, hopefully tomorrow, I will have this figured out in the morning, then I can work on my found fairy friend. If not, oh well. I will just take it back to the beginning and know what to do at minimum to change the top of the blog. Grr.

Sweet dreams to all!

When you should leave well enough alone.

This was my practice with washes and salt techniques. It was great until I did a final wash.. LOL Sometimes you have to just put the brush down.. I thought since she was underwater, I should put some of that boiling water in front of her. I still like the concept, but I don't particularly think I executed it as well as I was envisioning it.

Although, I should really listen to myself in all aspects. I have spent the ENTIRE day changing this stupid blog BG around trying to make it perfect. It's just fine now, and it will be staying like this for a while. Sure, I might change the font a little more, but I gotta make it easy to see, right? :)

Busy busy busy!!

Ok.. so my daughter picked out todays background theme.. LOL I'm going to change it to something else, but she does love her monkeys. She is my little arteest too. LOL It might be changed before anyone even reads this blog, but it was monkeys and it was lovely! :)

Obviously I changed it. LOL I told her I would make a page especially for her full of monkeys for Gramma to see. She was happy with that.

Today I will be hopefully finishing my latest drawing and getting ready to paint her. She is definitely my favorite so far and I can't wait to see how she wants me to paint her. It will be interesting to say the least.

Right now, I have to go make dinner and finish my housecleaning, which takes up most of my days lately, as well as my lovely children whom I am trying to retrain using Love and Logic. It's going slow and difficult. We'll make it.

So look forward to the newest addition to my little collection coming tomorrow hopefully!

Blessings!
